After Receiving the COVID Vaccine

There are a few common side effects once you have received the vaccinations.  This is a normal immune response your body is having and should subside in a few days. 

Common Side Effect May Include: 

  • Injection site pain

  • Swelling of the upper arm

  • A slight fever

  • Chills

  • Tiredness

  • Headache

If you experience any side effects, speak to a pharmacist or health care provider about over-the-counter medication for pain and discomfort.  There are additional remedies you may want to try:

  • Apply a clean, cool, wet washcloth over the area

  • Move an use your injected arm

  • Drink plenty of fluids

  • Wear clothes that do not restrict movement and are lightweight

When you should call your Doctor

Be sure to call your health care provider if you experience any of the following

  • When the redness or tenderness where you got the immunization continues to increase and does not begin to subside after 24 hours.

  • If you side effects are concerning or do not seem to be going away after a few days, it is best to call
